Yesterday I called the number that the lady at the other SSN office gave me, I spoke with another lady, she took my info and said she'd find out the status and call me back. I checked the voicemail later that day, she called back, and guess what she said? My case cleared and it should get here in 2 weeks. Yupee! I will soon be able to work.

GMAT: I'm now on to Algebra

On friday I went to another SSN office to see if they could figure out why things were taking so long but after an hour and a half of waiting, the woman said that she could not do anything but check the status, what a disappointment. However, she gave me a number to call so I could ask them personally what was up, much more than what the previous location did for me. Tomorrow I will call them up and see if I can get any answers. In the mean time I'll be studying.

I'm still on the math section of Cracking the GMAT

Ok, so I've found another university that offers the program that I wanted and tuition is much lower than UM's. St. Thomas University, as you would suspect is a Catholic university, I don't know that much about it but it has what I want, tuition is reasonable, and it's close by. Their mission is “Developing Leaders for Life” and they have an 18:1 student to teacher ratio, not bad.

I have received $30 from an anonymous donor now bringing the total up to $80. Classes start on August 2nd so I need to hit the GMAT books so I can apply to St. Thomas as soon as possible. Keep the donations coming, I appreciate every penny.

My cousin Duane donated $30 a few weeks back bringing me up to $50 minus the fees that PayPal charges. I've been looking on other schools and I've found that St. Thomas University offers a two-year MBA in Management and that seems like a better choice than the expensive UM. I need more information regarding tuition and admission which I will find out more about later on. I also found a site which offers a scholarship called Beat the GMAT Scholarship... it's actually a competition with five prizes. The 1st place winner receives prizes worth $7,890 including reimbursment for GMAT registration ($250), more information can be found on there website Beat The GMAT.

I have not yet registered for the GMAT but I am planning for May, depending on when St. Thomas starts accepting admissions for the fall.

I finally received Cracking the GMAT, a test-prep guide written by The Princeton Review, as well as the Kaplan GMAT Course Book, pocket reference and CD. I'll get to it starting tomorrow, after all I'll have to send the scores in by April... I don't have much time.

Today I have received donation from a good friend of mine, Lee. Thanks for the support

Finally I have uploaded my site, it took me 2 days to create and now the dirty work has begun. I have to market my site and get people looking through the pages and eventually making a donation or using one of my services. The services I have included are web design, photography, business plan writing, etc.

I have really high hopes that this site will take off and I will be able to attend the University of Miami's MBA program. I will definitely look to friends and family for some support. As I make progress I will post updates to this blog so that those who have donated can keep up-to-date.
